Privacy Policy — Exercise Tracker

Exercise Tracker is a local-first workout tracker. It has no accounts, no logins, no advertising, and no analytics. Almost everything you put into the app stays on your device. This policy explains the one exception, and what the app does with the device features it asks permission for.
Who is responsible
Exercise Tracker is published by an independent developer trading as Solo Dev.

What stays on your device
All of the following is stored only in the app's private storage on your device, in a local database and the app's documents folder. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and the developer has no ability to see it:
- Workouts, sets, reps, weights, and any notes you record
- Exercises you create, including any photo you attach to one
- Your settings, appearance and language preferences, and app icon choice
- Stopwatch and timer state
If you uninstall the app or use Settings → Delete all data, this information is gone. It is not backed up to any server by the app. Use Settings → Export database if you want your own copy.
The one thing that is sent off your device
If — and only if — you choose to send a report using Settings → Contact, or you send a bug report from the app's error screen, the app transmits that report to a Google Firestore database controlled by the developer, over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
A report contains:

The last four fields are best-effort — if the app cannot read one, it is simply left out.
Your workout data is never part of a report. No exercises, no sets, no images, no database contents.
Because the message is free text, please avoid typing anything into it that you would not want the developer to read — the report is only as private as what you choose to write in it.
Reports are stored using Google Cloud Firestore, which acts as a data processor. Google's handling of that data is governed by the Google Cloud Privacy Notice.
Sending a report is always your choice. The app never sends one on its own, and nothing in the app stops working if you never send one.
Device permissions
- Camera — only when you choose to attach a photo to an exercise. Photos are resized and saved into the app's own storage on your device. They are never uploaded.
- Notifications — to show the ongoing stopwatch notification while a workout timer is running. The app runs fine without this permission; you just won't see the notification.
- Vibration — to buzz when a rest timer finishes.
- Internet — used solely to send a report as described above.
Sharing and external links
- The share action hands an image you generated to your device's system share sheet. What happens next is up to the app you pick, and is covered by that app's own privacy policy.
- Support and tip links open in your external browser. Those pages are operated by third parties under their own privacy policies. Tipping is entirely optional and grants nothing inside the app.
- On iOS and macOS, optional tips use Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple processes the payment; the developer never receives your payment details.
What the app does not do
- No user accounts, logins, or profiles
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers
- No analytics, telemetry, tracking, or usage measurement
- No selling or sharing of personal information with anyone
- No location collection
- No automatic or background transmission of anything
Children
Exercise Tracker is not directed at children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects nothing unless someone chooses to send a report, there is nothing to collect.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including the EEA and UK under the GDPR — you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held about you, and to object to its processing.
In practice the only information that could exist is a report you chose to send. If you would like it deleted, see the data deletion request page, or email solodev600@gmail.com with enough detail to identify it (roughly when you sent it and what it said). Because reports carry no account or device identifier, that detail is the only way to find one.
The lawful basis for handling a report is the developer's legitimate interest in diagnosing problems and improving the app, on information you volunteered.
Data location
Reports are processed by Google Cloud infrastructure and may be stored on servers outside your country. The developer is located in Argentina.
Changes
This policy may be updated as the app changes. The "last updated" date above will change when it does, and the current version will always be at this address.
